Best of Rapid 3D Printing Expo 2015: Mcor IRIS

When most people imagine what 3D printing is, they probably have an image of a full color model in their heads. The reality is, most consumer 3D printers can only print in one color. They also use a specific type of plastic filament that usually renders the model unrecyclable.

MCor hopes to change this. Their Mcor IRIS can build beautiful, vivid colored models – from regular office copy paper.  Their machines print using a proprietary ink, laying down color on hundreds of sheets of paper. Then the machine lays down the printed layers on top of each other while laying down layers of glue.  To read more about their process, you can read about it in our previous post  here.
