Pack on the Power
A portable battery pack is the on-the-go solution for anyone who finds themselves using their smartphones for more than just the occasional call or texts. Between constantly checking my emails, instagraming and my obsession with candy crush, I find myself constantly on the lookout for an outlet to power me up. The power problem seems to be the biggest complaint for smartphone users around the board and companies are paying attention. There are a ton of power accessories out there, but few that really stand out. Andrew Namminga, principal designer of ANDESIGN and consumer electronics aficionado, returned from a recent trip to China with the Lepow ADD X Series Power Bank, a power bank that is rarely spotted in the U.S. Lepow is the creator of the world’s first large-capacity power banks and winner of the 2012 Reddot Award for design.
The ADD X-Series’ takes power to a whole new level with it’s innovative design and functionality. It features a 4500mAh battery as well as a supplementary battery of equal power that effortlessly snap together via built in magnets, doubling capacity in seconds! We’re talking 9000mAh of power to keep you charged no matter where your day takes you. The magnetic feature allows you to snap the supplemental battery on and off without obstructing the clean aesthetics with obnoxious prongs. It easily plugs into a phone or device with the included USB/Micro USB or phone’s cable to charge when away from home or work. We can’t get enough of the fun yet subtle color blocking that really stands out against the sea of black and white designs we’ve been seeing lately. The Shakable LED power display is a nice added touch too.As if the product itself wasn’t impressive enough, Lepow goes the extra mile with the packaging. The cork packaging can be repurposed to be used as a pencil box and the silica gel cover can store earphones and your USB cables.
Lepow’s newest power bank, The Moonstone, was introduced to the American market earlier this year with great popularity. It is still unsure if the ADD will be hitting shelves in the U.S. We hope we don’t have to wait until next years China excursion to get our hands on some more innovative power solutions from Lepow.
