Meet Our Designer: Rian Carlo Abraham
Name: Rian Carlo Abraham
Title: Jr. Industrial Designer
What inspired you to go into Industrial Design?
“Since I was a child I’ve been interested in creating things and taking things apart. I loved getting those lego kits, car models, airplane models and gundam models. It would occupy my whole day until I finished it and then I would buy another one. I also loved taking things apart to see how they worked and possibly fix them in the process. Sometimes, I would take something apart and wouldn’t be able to put it back together. WOOPS!
I went into college thinking I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer. After a while, I discovered that I didn’t want to be an Engineer at all: I wasn’t having fun and I felt like it wasn’t for me. I was thinking of switching to Graphic Design because I was working at the graphic design place at CSULB and I knew a lot about it already. A long talk with one of my fraternity brothers/mentor, Mr. Dennis Cimatu, directed me to Industrial Design. I had no idea what I was getting into until I walked into that building and just fell in love. From then on it became my awesome passion.”
What are some of your hobbies?
“I like making things by hand or with a computer, football (Go JETS!), riding my bike, music, dancing, exploring and discovering new things, photography, eating, sleeping, and vaping!! #vapelife”
“I love to dance even if there’s no music playing.”
