Meet Our Summer Interns: Emi, Rena & Cooper

ANDesign decided to take on three interns for the summer: two for design and one for marketing mōd Power Kit.

Emi Ichikawa: Design Intern

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
“My name is Emi Ichikawa and I am 20 years old from Saratoga in Northern California.”

 

Where do you go to school and what is your major?
“I currently attend Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. I am majoring in Product Design and will complete my studies next year.”

 

Why did you want to work for us?
“I have always wanted to design a variety of different products and felt that working at a design firm would give me the most opportunities to explore a variety of options.  I felt that ANDesign would be able to expose me to these opportunities as well as help me build upon my skills as a product designer.”

Rena Juang: Design Intern

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
“My name is Rena. I was born in North Carolina and grew up in New Hampshire. After high school, I went back to North Carolina to attend a university. After some back and forth and switching between majors, I finally came across something that I loved to do: product design.”

 

Where do you go to school and what is your major?
“I’m a recent graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. My major was Industrial Design with a Product Design concentration and a minor in Mathematics.”

 

Why did you want to work for us?
“I needed an internship to get my degree and ANDesign seemed like an interesting firm that did some cool stuff. I like that it’s a smaller firm that does a wide range of things, designing things from water bottles to digital watches.”

Cooper Carrasco: Marketing Intern

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
“My name is Cooper Carrasco. I’m 21 years old. I like playing music and vaping.”

 

Where do you go to school and what is your major?
“I go to Orange Coast College, majoring in Liberal Arts.”

 

Why did you want to work for us?
“I wanted to work for mōd because I love vaping and I love marketing. Working in the vaping industry is pioneering. mōd, and electronic cigarettes in general, have the potential to really help people kick a habit that has been killing people for too long now. I’m excited to have the chance to promote this awesome new product.”
